Accurate and reliable measurement\u00a0of liquid level and interface\u00a0are provided in even the most difficult and hazardous\u00a0 industrial environments. The LMT100 is also available with optional temperature measurement.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"sfContentBlock\">\n<p><strong>The LMT100 is based upon the magnetostrictive principle.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. The device electronics generates a low energy current<br \/>\npulse at fixed intervals.<br \/>\n2. The electrical pulses create a magnetic field which<br \/>\ntravels down a specialized wire inside the sensor tube.<br \/>\n3. The interaction of the magnetic field around the wire<br \/>\nand the magnetic float causes a torsional stress wave<br \/>\nto be induced in the wire. This torsion propagates<br \/>\nalong the wire at a known velocity, from the position of<br \/>\nthe magnetic float and toward both ends of the wire.<br \/>\n4. A patented sensing element placed in the transmitter<br \/>\nassembly converts the received mechanical torsion<br \/>\ninto an electrical return pulse.<br \/>\n5.
